Parent Teacher Association

The Sutton Bonington Parent Teacher Association is a friendly, committed group of parents and staff who usually meet every half term (often in the pub!) to discuss ways of raising money to fund projects within the school. There are usually several main events a year: a Jumble Sale in January, Summer Fete in July, and the village bonfire night in November. Additional events include an annual school disco for children and quiz night for parents. It also serves an important role in supporting events such as Christmas productions by providing refreshments. However, we are always looking for new ideas for events and fundraising and welcome new committee members or volunteers for specific events.

Over recent years we have funded a number of projects, both large and small, including:

enhancing the adventure playground with new equipment;

purchasing 8 new digital cameras;

match funding a new outdoor 'cabin', primarily to provide a quiet space for pastoral care;

construction of a log circle on the school field to be used in outdoor learning activities;

paying for all children to take part in a willow-weaving workshop;

a new oven for the cookery area;

a new flat screen television;
                                                                                                                                                                              bike stands for secure storage;

annual yearbooks for Year 6 leavers;

funding the DARE (Drugs Awareness) programme in Year 6;

buying 'Living Eggs', allowing Reception children to see chicks hatch
